The Shadow is an impressive sailing vessel: a Comet 100 RS built by Comar Yachts in Fiumicino, Italy, in 2011. Designed by Andrea Vallicelli, the Shadow boasts 273.4 square metres of sails, which feature a beautiful giant octopus. Geoff Evans, the captain of this floating jewel, is proud of his boat: “sailing on a boat of these characteristics is a true privilege” and he adds “this is why we give great importance even to the smallest details when we are out sailing as well as when we are at shore carrying out maintenance works”.
Evans has been working in the boating sector for more than forty years –the last three of which as captain of the Shadow– and is well aware that choosing the best repair & refit base port is crucial in order to have the boat at its best. “At Vardaor 2000 we have found facilities that perfectly adapt to our needs: excellent location, very close to Barcelona; the best professionals and very competitive prices”.
The captain, who has already visited Varador 2000 twice, is very satisfied with the service offered at the shipyard. “It has an amazing staff that solves all problems. We are so happy with the service offered that we have already scheduled our next visit” he said. The Shadow is a complex boat, equipped with very modern systems, “this is why it is very important to rely on a shipyard with renowned experience, capable of doing all you request and with a good network of suppliers” says Evans.
This super yacht is 31 metres long, boasts a 6.71 metre beam and is made from carbon fibre. It normally sails with a crew of four and has capacity to accommodate eight more. For private use only, the vessel is light, fast and well-balanced. It is the ideal yacht both for cruising (it features spectacular equipment) and racing.
