The second generation of the Mas family takes the helm of Náutica Esplai, the company founded by Lluís Mas, creating a public limited company dedicated to sales and nautical services.
The company manages the facilities of the Arenys de Mar shipyard (200-tonne travelift and 7,000 m² dry dock), which allow to offer comprehensive nautical services.
The company changes its name to Varador 2000. It extends its dry dock area to 10,000 m² and starts offering a painting service for 35-metre long yachts.
Inauguration of Varador 2000’s branch in Palma. The facilities offer assistance and technical support to all clients of Varador 2000 in the Balearic Islands. It also acts as a sales office for the company.
Varador 2000 starts its international expansion by taking part in the main trade fairs and nautical events around the world, such as Monaco Yacht Show and others.
*Inauguration of Mataró Marina Barcelona, a nautical base for large yachts located on the Western dock at Port of Mataró, a few miles from Barcelona.
*Implementation of the ISO 9001 Quality Management system.
Implementing Environmental Management ISO 14001, ISO 45001 Safety and Health at Work, and EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme).
*Organization of the first Cooking and Gastronomy for Superyachts training course.
*Varador 2000 takes on the ship management of the fleet of the Maritime Museum of Barcelona.
Inauguration of Sirius Club, an exclusive area for captains and crews, located within the facilities of the superyacht nautical base Mataró Marina Barcelona.
*Start-up of the new Tender Clinic+ technical service, a new maintenance and refit concept for ‘tenders’ up to 200 tonnes.
*Varador 2000 organizes Maresmar, an international maritime festival of vintage boats that aims to promote maritime culture and heritage.
*Varador 2000 celebrates its 35th anniversary: expansion and upgrade of the facilities and technical equipment.
*First edition of Refit Conference organised by Varador 2000, Daevi and Barcelona Clúster Nàutic.
