This weekend we visited the installations of Varador 2000 Alan Bryden, a world authority on issues of quality certification of companies (has been Secretary General of ISO for many years). Bryden has wanted to visit Varador 2000 because he knows the commitment to continuous improvement has always maintained that the company and know that in the Catalan marine industry Varador 2000 has been a leader in the implementation of management systems for quality, environmental management and workplace prevention (ISO 9001 , ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001). Currently the company is also working towards EMAS certification of environmental protection.
Alan Bryden has visited installations of Varador 2000 accompanied by Xiqui Mas, CEO of the company, Raúl Donaire, Technical Manager, Andreu López, Administrative Manager and Javier Bruna, engineer expert consultant on issues of quality.
Alan Bryden is currently a member of the General Council for Economic Affairs (high-level advisory committee of the French government) and senior consultant of various European and international organizations on issues of quality and sustainable development. From 2003 to 2009 he was Secretary General of ISO (International Organization for Standardization) . During his tenure ISO grew significantly in number of members and number of standards quality certification. Previously he was Director General of AFNOR, the French Institute for Standardization. He is a Knight of the Legion d’ Honneur and the Ordre National du Mérite of France.
