Princess Yachts Barcelona and Varador 2000 have signed a partnership agreement by which the repair and refit base in Arenys de Mar (Barcelona) will become the official technical service in Catalonia for the prestigious Plymouth-based yacht manufacturers. “Varador 2000 provides us with the post-sale quality and service we need for our customers”, said Àlex Colomer, head of Princess Yachts in Catalonia, Valencia, Galicia and the Basque Country.
Varador 2000 is one of the most renowned shipyards on the Catalan coast. With over thirty years in the business, it is now a benchmark for repair and refit of sailing and motor boats. This longstandingness was crucial for Princess Yachts Barcelona when it came to choosing a solid technical base for its customers: “Varador 2000 gives us technical and professional rigour, a fast and capable response as well as security for our customers”, Colomer added.
Varador 2000 is also delighted with the agreement with Princess Yachts Barcelona, as “providing official technical service throughout the Barcelona and Catalonia area for such an eminent brand will further strengthen our position as a leading shipyard in the 20 to 60 metre range of vessels”, said Raül Donaire, technical director at Varador 2000.
Varador 2000 manages a shipyard in the port of Arenys de Mar that specialises in comprehensive repair and maintenance of all kinds of sailing and motor vessels as well as sport, professional and fishing boats. Varador 2000’s facilities and its industrial processes have been officially accredited with the ISO 9001 quality management system, ISO 14001 environmental management and OHSAS 18001, occupational health and safety certificates.
At the Arenys de Mar shipyard, Varador 2000 has a technical area measuring 10,000 square metres for repair and refit of all kinds and lengths of vessels and employs around a hundred people. The company is intending to expand its technical forecourt in the coming months by over 2,500 square metres. Varador 2000’s professionals are experts in all the latest nautical industrial processes such as mechanics, carpentry, joinery, painting, electronics, hydraulics, welding and upholstery.
In addition to the technical shipyard in Arenys de Mar, in the port of Mataró Varador 2000 also manages the nautical base for superyachts Mataró Marina Barcelona, which has a capacity for thirty superyachts.
